Armen Dzhigarkhanyan: "I am a lone wolf"

Armen Dzhigarkhanyan: "I am a lone wolf"

16 ноября 2020, 06:57
Armen Dzhigarkhanyan managed to celebrate his 85th birthday - October 3. On the 14 of November the People's Artist of the USSR was gone...

After the scandal with the last wife Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya and the subsequent illness, Armen Borisovich never returned to the theater, which he founded and which he named after himself. If we talk about art, his fate is, of course, happy: the record holder for the number of roles in cinema (more than 300), the favorite artist of the great Andrei Goncharov at the Mayakovsky Theater, the teacher who brought up a galaxy of wonderful artists, characteristic, charismatic, no doubt great. In the personal life of Armen Borisovich, some persons made a grand PR, and God is their judge. By and large, Dzhigarkhanyan was a very lonely person. He spoke about himself in one of our interviews with him:

"I am a lone wolf. In suffering, searching, mistakes - always alone. All my way is to resist. When they interfered with me, and this happened often, I did everything well”, - admitted Armen Dzhigarkhanyan.

He was a very helpful person. Before meeting with Vitalina, Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya gave interviews to everyone. No one could find such correct words as Armen Dzhigarkhanyan when his colleagues were leaving. I was present several times when journalists called Dzhigarkhanyan with a request to tell about the deceased artist, director, and he spoke with great love and tenderness about everyone. I was angry when faced with stupidity and injustice. He did not like value judgments. For example, I did not want to characterize my partner in the film "The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed" by Vladimir Vysotsky:

"Let the critics evaluate his talent", - Armen Dzhigarkhanyan reacted.

Armen Borisovich, judging by our interviews, had a pessimistic view of the future. He saw and understood that humanity was lost and, as a result, cataclysms in nature, epidemics, wars:

"What is happening in the world makes me think that the Gods have left us. We are alone with our sores and troubles", - Armen Dzhigarkhanyan shared his observations.

He was a Shakespearean personality. A million times he challenged fate as heroes of ancient tragedies. But Hamlet's torments "To be or not to be?" Dzhigarkhanyan were not peculiar to:

"Fate is life. Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy turned out to be smarter when, to the question: "What to do?", He said: "Live!" And we invent everything else. There is life and there is death, - period", - said Armen Dzhigarkhanyan.

He was very fond of artists. Fatherly, brotherly. Until the theater of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan fell under the influence of cunning persons, there was never any deceit, intrigue, or abuse of power in it. Today, artists who worked with Armen Dzhigarkhanyan at the best of times speak about this - Andrei Merzlikin, Alexey Shevchenkov, Elena Ksenofontova and many others. In recent years, the theater of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, financed with funds from the Moscow government, needed repairs, new stages and sponsors:

"I think that there is no money in the country, but no money, as they say, and there is no court. Our country is completely robbed. I only have a theater that needs money to stage performances, to pay salaries to actors. The cheapest performance costs two million rubles, and we get a million two hundred thousand per season - that's the whole story. It's a sad story", - Armen Dzhigarkhanyan noted in our interview.

Director, Artistic Director of the Modern Theater Yuri Grymov wrote in his blog about Armen Dzhigarkhanyan:

"The brightest theater and film actor Armen Dzhigarkhanyan passed away. I remember how he starred in my film "Casus Kukotsky", he had an amazing warmth. A real cozy warmth emanated from him, and it seemed that even the pavilion in which we were filming was getting warmer and filled with light.

Absolutely everything that Armen Borisovich did in the cinema, he did with appetite, this is a real gift that the audience felt. Therefore, Armen Borisovich had such popular love and recognition.

This is a colossal loss of the brightest Man and actor.

Bright memory".

The adorer of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan's creativity, professor, the vice-president of the Society of Russian Literature Mikhail Gorbanevsky wrote the following words about his favorite artist on his Facebook page:

"Goodbye, dear Armen Borisovich! We have been sincere and loyal admirers of your talent. You have always generously given us goodness and joy, light and optimism... May the Lord rest you in the villages of the righteous!

May the Lord illuminate your soul..."
