Before that, we've to remind, Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma bills suggesting the early termination of the powers of a judge in the event of loss of Russian citizenship or committing an act defaming honor.
On November 18, amendments to projects prepared by the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation will be considered. The authors of the amendment to abolish the constitutional courts were MP Pavel Krasheninnikov and Senator Andrei Klishas.
"From the date of entry into force of this federal constitutional law, the constitutional (charter) courts of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation do not accept new cases for proceedings. Consideration of cases accepted by the constitutional (charter) courts of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation for proceedings before the date of entry into force of this federal constitutional law must be completed, and decisions on them must be taken before the day from which, in accordance with the laws of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, constitutional (charter ) the courts of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation are abolished, but no later than January 1, 2023", - RIA Novosti quotes the text of the table of amendments.
Accordingly, once the law comes into force, no new judges will be appointed to such courts. But the former judges will retain all social guarantees.
In addition, Russian subjects will have the right to create constitutional councils operating under legislative (representative) bodies in these regions.
We will remind that earlier Putin abolished three presidential councils: for economic modernization, financial market development and an economic council. After the document was signed, 69 presidential decrees lost their validity.
