The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said that despite the absence of an explosive increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection in the regions, the deterioration of the situation with COVID-19 in the country is obvious.

“In order to stop the situation, we all need to follow the rules. And there will be no need to introduce a lockdown if the measures that have already been introduced in the constituent entities are impeccably implemented and will be unconditional for everyone”, - Popova said on the air of the Russia 1 channel.

At the same time, the chief sanitary doctor noted that, first of all, you need to wear masks, wash your hands and maintain social distance.

She pointed out that going out to public places today is not necessary without "absolutely incredible necessity". Popova also urged not to wait for the virus to leave itself when the cold weather sets in.

"Viruses are generally very cold-loving, they live at temperatures of minus 70, minus 20, and some of the vaccines that are created are stored at this temperature. Therefore, there is no reason to expect that everything will go away by itself with the onset of winter", - she clarified.

Over the past day, 463 people with diagnosed covid have died in Russia, which was the highest figure since spring, when the so-called "first wave" of the disease was in effect.

Thus, Russia continues to set records for deaths from covid. Most of the deaths from COVID-19 are in the capital cities. In Moscow, 73 patients died, in St. Petersburg - 72. From 10 to 19 dead - in the Voronezh, Rostov, Irkutsk, Moscow, Omsk, Nizhny Novgorod regions, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Buryatia.
