After studies of remdesivir among seven thousand patients, the drug has not proven to reduce mortality, the need for a ventilator, and recovery time. At the same time, remdesivir was approved for use in the United States, President Donald Trump, who was sick with COVID-19, took it.

At the same time, according to experts from the World Health Organization, this drug should not be used in hospitalized patients with covid, no matter what severity of the disease they are diagnosed with. WHO opposes the use of remdesivir because there is "no evidence that it improves survival and other patient outcomes".

Let us recall that Donald Trump, having recovered from covid, promised all citizens "the same treatment" as he had. The American leader was treated with remdesivir.

Studies of the drug's effectiveness started on October 15. In total, four trials were carried out in which data from more than seven thousand patients were analyzed.

Back in mid-October, WHO drew attention to the low effectiveness of this drug. Then, the study used information about the treatment of 11 266 hospitalized.

Remdesivir, we note, is indicated in the recommendations of the Russian Ministry of Health for the treatment of coronavirus.
