This was reported by Kommersant-Siberia. It is assumed that Ferents's arrest may be related to the investigation of the case against the ex-head of the Vinap company's board of directors, businessman Oleg Yarovoy. He is accused of major fraud.
The entrepreneur's lawyer said that the basis for initiating the case was the appeal of the former general director of Vinap, Yuri Veryasov, who said that Yarovoy allegedly stole about 170 million rubles from him in the period from 2011 to 2015. Later it became known that Yarovoy allegedly promised Veryasov a solution to problems with law enforcement agencies.
According to Vesti Novosibirsk, a former colleague of Ferents, the former head of the department for supervision over the observance of federal legislation of the Novosibirsk Region Prosecutor's Office Alexandra Averina, was also detained. She is suspected of complicity in a knowingly false denunciation.
Ferents has been the prosecutor of Novosibirsk since 2016. Previously, he headed the Prosecutor's Office of the Central District of the city. In the summer of 2020, he applied for a vacation followed by dismissal.
