The American destroyer "John McCain" in the Sea of Japan violated the borders of Russia and invaded the territorial waters for two kilometers. From there he was driven out by the Russian anti-submarine ship "Admiral Vinogradov".

According to RBC, today, on November 24, a warning was sent to the American destroyer from the board of the Admiral Vinogradov that the Russian ship was even ready to go for a ramming maneuver to force it out of the territorial waters. After that, the American ship immediately went out into neutral waters and did not make repeated attempts to return. The incident itself took place in the early morning in the Peter the Great Bay, on the banks of which the cities of Vladivostok and Nakhodka are located.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since "John McCain" has been in the waters of the Sea of Japan for several days, and only "Admiral Vinogradov" is watching him, the Pacific Fleet corvette "Sovershenniy" ("Perfect") was sent to help him.

"John McCain", named after the admirals-relatives of the famous American senator who died two years ago, is assigned to the US naval base in the Japanese city of Yokosuka. The ship is 153.9 meters long and 20.1 meters wide. The ship can reach speeds of over 30 knots and has a crew of 338. In 2017, near Singapore, the ship already had an involuntary "ram" with a tanker, which led to the death of several sailors.

In recent years, American ships and aircraft have cruised in close proximity to Russian borders and military installations only in the Black Sea.
