17 Khabarovsk deputies who announced their withdrawal from the Liberal Democratic Party changed their minds

The head of the Khabarovsk City Duma Mikhail Sidorov and 16 parliamentarians, who announced that they were leaving the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia because “their hands were tied”, decided to change their mind.

The reason why the deputies on November 23 announced their withdrawal from the party, Sidorov called the fact that he and his colleagues want to obey only voters, and not the regional branch of the Liberal Democratic Party. But the very next day another turn of events was announced.

"Taking into account the fact that the sister of Sergey Ivanovich Furgal turned to me, taking into account the position of all the deputies, taking into account the existing guarantees, we considered it necessary that the most correct decision would be to carry out our activities today in the ranks of the party from which we became deputies", - Mikhail Sidorov told Interfax.

The fact is that on November 23 the deputies met with the acting head of the region, Mikhail Degtyarev, who promised to "meet" and promised to solve problems, including the issue of "interaction with the city's executive power".

“There are questions about the transparency of financial flows in the city budget”, - Sidorov explained.

Today the speaker of the City Duma intends to fly to Moscow to meet with the leader of the faction, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, to discuss all the aggravated issues.

The meteoric rise of the LDPR in the Khabarovsk Territory took place against the backdrop of the victory of Sergei Furgal in the gubernatorial elections in 2018. In 2019, 34 representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia and one deputy from Fair Russia, Maria Ognennaya, entered the city council of the regional capital. But with the arrival of the acting, also a member of the Liberal Democratic Party, the party seems to be irrevocably losing its authority, and its members regularly become antiheroes of major scandals in Khabarovsk and the region.
