Psaki previously worked on the Obama team, where Biden served as vice president. Psaki commented on her appointment to the leadership position on Twitter, stating that she is "honored to be working on a team again with Biden".

Psaki's chief deputy will be Karin Jean-Pierre, a former NBC and MSNBC political analyst who served as Biden's senior advisor and was chief of staff to his vice president, Kamala Harris.
