The audit team will control the costs of the construction of Vostochny

"A permanent control and audit group has been created, the activities of which are aimed at suppressing the facts of acceptance of poorly performed work, preventing inappropriate spending of funds allocated for construction, ensuring compliance with the construction deadlines", - TASS quotes a message from representatives of the state corporation.

Now control over the construction is carried out using aerial photography, and since August the executive director of Roscosmos for the construction and technical re-equipment of the industry has been at the cosmodrome. General Director Dmitry Rogozin personally visits the cosmodrome once a month, the state corporation said.

Let us recall that the construction of the cosmodrome has been underway since 2011. In October, it was decided to allocate an additional 6 billion rubles for the construction of the facility. Thus, the project cost will reach 320 million rubles. Moreover, at least 10 billion of them were stolen. Note that the construction site is accompanied by multiplying criminal cases of corruption and other violations - to date, more than 140 have been initiated.

Recently it became known about the arrest of the chief engineer of the corporation center in Blagoveshchensk. In addition, Rogozin fired the head of the Vostochny cosmodrome Yevgeny Rogozu, and also reprimanded the head of TsENKI Andrey Okhlopkov and Vladimir Zhuk, who was arrested today. At the same time, back in June it was reported that Rogoza had bought an apartment worth 100 million rubles in an elite Moscow residential complex.

In December 2019, the Prosecutor General's Office announced that during the construction of the facility, the country's budget was damaged in more than 21 billion rubles. Law enforcement agencies were also in collusion with the builders, whose task was to suppress such violations.
