According to the plaintiffs, the Sukhoi Superjet-100 aircraft launched on the flight, in the crash of which 41 people died, did not meet the airworthiness standards.
According to Kommersant, the lawsuits were filed with the Tribunal Judiciaire de Paris on behalf of 15 people.
“The defendants are seven foreign companies: Leach International Europe, Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, Safran Landing Systems, Thales Avionics Lcd SAS, PowerJet, Safran, acting as L'Equipement et la Construction Electrique (ECE), and Curtiss -Wright Corp ", - reports the TV channel Rain.
According to the lawyer of the victims, Mikhail Zagainov, the aircraft was ignited and a large number of victims were caused by its incorrect design: during an emergency landing, the landing gear did not collapse, but pierced the fuel tanks, and as a result a fire started. The victims believe that the manufacturing companies should be responsible for this. This is reflected in French law. It states that the manufacturer is liable for damage caused by a defect in his product, "regardless of whether he was in a contractual relationship with the victims".
Another defendant in the case of the plane crash is Aeroflot, which, according to the lawyers of the victims, is obliged to compensate the relatives of the deceased passengers for moral and material damage.
At the end of November, it became known that the families of those killed and injured in the SSJ-100 crash filed pre-trial claims to the French companies supplying spare parts for the Messier-Bugatti-Dowty and Thales Avionics aircraft, offering them to pay compensation without trial.
The crash of the SSJ-100 occurred on May 5, 2019 after lightning struck the hull. The plane made an emergency landing at Sheremetyevo and caught fire, resulting in the death of 40 passengers and one crew member. Russian security officials , without waiting for the results of all technical examinations, called the only culprit in the incident experienced pilot Denis Evdokimov, who survived the accident, who allegedly provoked the crash by violations of safety rules and the operation of air transport. The pilot offered his condolences to the victims, saying that during landing the plane did not obey the steering wheel , which was confirmed by the data of the "black boxes". However, the investigation believes that the cause of the plane crash and the death of people was the violation of the landing rules.
