A memorial tablet erected in honor of the former mayor of the city Yuri Luzhkov on the anniversary of his death was solemnly unveiled in the center of Moscow. The commemorative tablet was installed on the 3rd Tverskaya-Yamskaya street at number 48, where the former mayor of the capital lived in recent years.

The memorial tablet was made by sculptor Igor Burganov and architect Igor Voskresensky . It shows a former mayor wearing a cap looking at a map of Moscow within the Moscow Ring Road. The blackboard states that “a prominent politician lived in this house from 2000 to 2019”.

The memorial was opened by the widow of the former mayor Elena Baturina, the presidential envoy to the Central Federal District Igor Shchegolev and the chairman of the Moscow City Duma Alexey Shaposhnikov, writes Interfax.
