Police officers helped a Muscovite to give birth in the subway

The incident took place on Wednesday evening at the Elektrozavodskaya metro station. Having descended from the escalator into the metropolitan subway, a 29-year-old pregnant woman could no longer continue her journey, began to sink to the floor. At that moment, the police approached her to inquire about her health. They called an ambulance.

“Realizing that the girl needs urgent help, senior police sergeant Alesya Polyakova was not at a loss and helped the baby to be born, doing everything necessary to ensure that neither the mother nor the newborn was hurt”, - the capital's Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The doctors who arrived at the scene noted that the police provided first aid professionally. The healthy baby and his mother were taken to the hospital.
