War
Less than half of the tanks and a third of the combat helicopters in service with the Bundeswehr will be able to take battle, if the war starts tomorrow.

Two and a half years ago, Novye Izvestia published an article entitled “Not Ready for War. The Bundeswehr's equipment was in the most deplorable state. In it, among the other things, it was said that Germany may face problems in fulfilling its obligations to NATO due to the lack of military hardware and equipment. For example, in 2014, tank commanders during joint NATO exercises covered up the absence of machine guns by using black-painted brooms...

What has changed since then? Never mind.

This is clearly seen from the report on the degree of technical combat readiness of the country as of October of this year. Kotlry published by the German Ministry of Defense. The infographics presented in it clearly show that, for example, the readiness ratio of Leopard 2 tanks, the main striking force of the German army in various modifications, is only 45.3%, and for the Puma infantry fighting vehicle it is even lower - 29.7%. But 60% ready light reconnaissance armored vehicles Fennek.

With combat helicopters, things look even worse. So multipurpose NHI NH90 helicopters in both ship and land versions have a combat readiness factor of only 23%, and Eurocopter Tiger - 18%. That is, only 9 of these 51 helicopters, which the Bundeswehr has at its disposal, will be able to take off to participate in the battle.

Not a lot, let's face it.
