RIA Novosti was told about this in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
"In the Russian Federation, there are from 9 to 11 million foreign citizens annually. This year, their number has been gradually decreasing and currently stands at about 6 million people (6.3 million), the department replied to the relevant question".
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, only a million migrants have a temporary residence or residence permit, and most of the foreign workers work under patents.
"As of November 1, 2020, 1.3 million foreign citizens are working in the Russian Federation on the basis of patents (in the same period last year - 1.7 million), 85 thousand have work permits. 368 thousand (508 thousand) labor or civil contracts have been concluded with citizens of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, the ministry explained".
The most numerous category of foreigners in the Russian Federation is named labor migrants in large cities and economic centers.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the number of labor migrants working in Russia was 1.8 million, which is a quarter less than in September 2019.
Let us note that the outflow of migrants from Russia led to a shortage of taxi drivers and couriers. 40% of organizations hiring foreign citizens have a shortage of labor, follows from the report of the Center for Strategic Research (CSR).
Recall that at the beginning of the month, the Federation Council proposed using spiritual and religious centers for the linguistic, legal, cultural and social adaptation of labor migrants.
