American media reports that Joe Biden has decided to appoint Debra Anne Haaland as the US Secretary of the Interior. She will become the first Native American (Laguna Pueblo tribe) cabinet minister in United States history. Her mother served in the US Navy, her father was an officer in the Marine Corps. Debra just turned 60 on December 2, she is a JD, member of the US Democratic Party, and a member of the House of Representatives from New Mexico since 2019.
