According to the regional Investigative Department of the ICR, a criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and Art. 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (torture and failure to fulfill responsibilities for the upbringing of minors).
“According to the investigation, in 1996–2020 in the Chamzinsky district, six victims who were minors at different times were systematically injured, they were deprived of food and sleep”, - the Investigative Committee said.
As clarifies Interfax, in total, 12 children grew up in the priest's family, including adopted ones.
“As part of the investigation of the criminal case during interrogations, one of the victims informed the investigator of the Investigative Committee that earlier, in 2005 and 2012, when she was six and thirteen years old, respectively, her adoptive father had committed other sexual acts against her”, - the investigators said...
For these episodes, the Investigative Committee also opened a criminal case under clause "b" of Part 4 of Art. 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (actions of a sexual nature with the use of threats or violence against a person under the age of 14). The punishment under this part of the article is up to 20 years in prison.
The Investigative Committee added that the suspect is now detained, and the question of choosing a preventive measure is being decided. The department noted that as part of the investigation of the case, an assessment will be made of the actions of not only the suspect, but also the alleged inaction of officials of the guardianship and guardianship authorities of the Chamzinsky municipal district. A criminal case of negligence was initiated against them.
