The Public Chamber proposed to introduce ration cards

Ogloblina took the initiative to the Cabinet of Ministers, calling it unacceptable the rise in prices for basic products with a decrease in wages and an increase in unemployment.

The head of the PC commission recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the absence of food shortages and instructed the heads of departments to deal with prices.

Ogloblina noted that although the authorities have fixed prices for sugar and sunflower oil, this agreement will be valid for only three months. Therefore, the PC member is sure, the Cabinet of Ministers should think about ration cards, social meals or essential goods for low-income citizens.

Let us recall that on December 15, the head of the cabinet of ministers Mikhail Mishustin signed a resolution stabilizing prices for basic products until the end of the first quarter of next year. Before that, it was reported that the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade made amendments to the legislation, thanks to which the authorities will be able to regulate the prices of socially significant food products if they grow by more than 10% in a month.

Earlier, the president drew attention to the unjustified overpricing of a number of essential goods. So, at the beginning of 2020, sugar prices increased by 71.5% , sunflower oil rose by 23.7%.
