The military expert called the Russian "Kinzhal" missile system a props

American military expert Tony Cooper has questioned the existence of the Russian hypersonic aircraft complex "Kinzhal" ("Dagger"). According to him, the demonstrated weapon is a props, in fact, this military development does not even exist on paper.

“Russia plans to equip the second Air Force regiment with MiG-31K interceptors, the first and, perhaps, the only fighters compatible with the Russian air-to-ground missile "Kinzhal" (“Dagger”). In theory, this will double the hypersonic strike power of the Russian Air Force, but in fact, the sounded super-fast missiles are made for show”, - writes Forbes.

The military expert told the publication that so far all the information he received about this development, in fact, cannot be called information. “In essence, this is a show project designed to demonstrate“ advanced Russian weapons”, - the expert concluded, adding that the regiment that was supposedly supposed to receive these weapons has not yet conducted a single test of this superfast missile.

The advantage of the "Kinzhal" is that it can completely destroy a warship with one blow. At the same time, it is practically impossible to detect it with the help of existing anti-missile defense systems.

As the newspaper notes, the developed development, even if it exists, is meaningless until the Russian military begins to train in the use of this weapon. Otherwise, even the most modern weapons will never hit the target, the newspaper notes.

Brian Clarke, an analyst at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments in Washington, notes that any hypersonic weapon is so expensive to manufacture that it can hardly be produced on a large scale, which means it can hit a large number of targets. “As far as I can tell, the Kremlin has no serious plans to use this weapon yet”, - Cooper said.

Obviously, such criticism is aimed at discrediting Russian weapons and the latest Russian developments, since Russia openly demonstrated both the missile itself and its carrier, and also conducted a series of tests of the air missile system "Kinzhal"”, - writes avia.pro. According to the military expert of the publication, Russia, China, and even the United States have similar developments, however, the States probably do not want to believe in the existence of advanced Russian military developments until they feel them by their own example.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump accused former US President Barack Obama of allegedly leaking secret information to Russia that helped the country to design a superfast missile. Trump said that the United States has something to answer the enemy, as the country has developed a "super-duper-hypersonic" missile that can reach speeds 17 times higher than the speed of sound. Then the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin said that obviously Russia "has nothing to catch against Trump's super-duper missiles". At the same time, the Russian military continues to test the new Avangard hypersonic missile, which recently was able to reach speeds of up to 28 MAX (approximately 33.6 thousand kilometers per hour), which is an absolute record today.
