Expert of the Gorchakov Foundation and her husband sentenced to 13 and 12 years in prison for treason

Previously, they were charged with working for the Latvian special services. In addition, they were charged with disclosing the identity of an FSB officer - he was noticed in the wedding photos of the spouses.

According to Kommersant, Zimina was sentenced to 13 years in a general regime colony, and Antonets - to 12 years in a strict regime. Both spouses do not admit their guilt and intend to appeal the sentence. Let us recall that Zimina is an expert at the Public Diplomacy Support Fund named after A. M. Gorchakova, and her husband Konstantin Antonets previously worked as a lawyer in the regional ministry of economy.

Earlier, "Novye Izvestia" wrote that the episode, which resulted in a criminal case, occurred in 2015 during the wedding of the defendants. An FSB officer was among the invitees. According to Zimina's father, the Chekist drank at the festive table and began to talk about his work and even hand out business cards, took pictures with the guests. Other guests included the bride's relatives living in Lithuania, as well as work colleagues.

Human rights activist Yeva Merkachyova emphasized that the truth can be found only by bringing the process to the "public court".
