Since December 30, Turkey has introduced mandatory PCR tests for coronavirus for all those entering the country. The rule applies to all tourists over six years old.

According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia , initially, the mandatory requirement for coronavirus tests was planned to be introduced from December 28. However, then the date was moved two days.

“On the morning of December 26, airlines received a new NOTAM telegram from the Turkish aviation authorities, specifying the date of entry into force of the requirement for mandatory PCR test for those entering the country,” the statement said.

As noted in the document, the requirement comes into force from 21.00 on December 29, 2020 - that is, from 00.00 on December 30, Turkish time (UTC + 3), which coincides with Moscow time.

The Turkish authorities require that from now on, all passengers over 6 years old must provide a negative PCR test for COVID-19 when boarding. The test has a shelf life of 72 hours. Tests made earlier than this time will not be accepted. And those passengers who have not done the test will not be allowed on board. The requirement applies to both travelers heading to Turkey and transit passengers.

It is expected that the mandatory presence of a PCR test will require at least three months - the validity of the document is determined until March 1, 2021. Upon learning of the change in the rules, tour operators began to urgently warn their customers about this. According to rough estimates, about 13 thousand Russians are planning to spend the New Year holidays in Turkey, including the New Year holidays.

You can make an urgent PCR test for coronavirus in medical laboratories or right at the airport. Depending on the type of medical organization, the cost of testing is on average from 2290 to 2750 rubles per person, the time for producing the results varies from one hour to three days.
