Pierre Cardin has died, France-Presse reports, referring to the designer's family.
According to the French publication, Cardin died today, December 29.
The world famous fashion designer was 98 years old. He died in a hospital at Neili, near Paris.
Pierre Cardin was born in Italy, near Venice, in 1922. His real name is Piero Cardino. He became the first couturier in the world to be elected a member of the French Academy of Fine Arts. One of Cardin's muses was the ballerina Maya Plisetskaya.
