The State Customs Service of Ukraine notes that the attackers tried to smuggle the criminal goods across the border as a diplomatic cargo. Its estimated value on the black market is over US $ 80 million.
According to the State Customs Service, the Turks were carrying drugs on a ship that arrived in the Odessa trade port in December 2020. The special services decided to carry out the so-called "controlled delivery" and not take the goods in Odessa. The heroin transporters were allowed to load it into trucks and arrive in Lvov.
The press service of the Office of the Attorney General reports the arrest of four Turkish citizens, adding that the drug entered the country from Pakistan under the guise of food.
