Poll: only 6 percent of Russians expect economic prosperity in 2021

Only 6% of Russians hope that 2021 will be the year of economic prosperity. This is evidenced by the results of a study by Gallup International, RBC reports.

According to the study, the index of economic hope of the country's residents is minus 41 percentage points. The same figure was recorded in 1998, when a default occurred in Russia. The lower index is minus 43 p.p. - was only in 2013. The highest was in 2006 (9 pp).

47% of Russian respondents to Gallup International believe that 2021 will be a period of economic problems. 40% of those surveyed said that the current year will be the same as 2020. 8% - found it difficult to answer. And only 6% of Russians who took part in the survey hope for the country's economic prosperity in 2021.

Overall, the survey was conducted in 41 countries. It was attended by 38 thousand people. The world index of economic hope was minus 21 pp. Thus, 25% of the world's inhabitants expect economic prosperity, and 45% - economic problems. The most pessimistic were the people of Great Britain. There the index was minus 62 p.p.
