On January 8, new restrictive measures related to the coronavirus pandemic came into force in Ukraine. Now catering establishments will be able to work only for take-out, markets will be closed, and classes in educational institutions will be suspended.

"From 00:00 hours on January 8, 2021 at 00:00 hours on January 25, enhanced quarantine measures will operate on the territory of Ukraine", - the website of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine says.

Cultural institutions, according to the new quarantine rules, will be temporarily closed, and public events canceled or postponed.

The work of gyms, fitness centers, swimming pools will be limited. All educational institutions, with the exception of kindergartens, will no longer accept students.

However, the activities of hairdressers and beauty salons will continue, but only by appointment.

The department recommended to all organizations that can go online to start working remotely by January 24.

To date, 1.3 million coronavirus cases have been identified in the country. At the same time, the receipt of Western vaccines was postponed indefinitely, announced President Vladimir Zelensky. He stressed that Kiev will buy any vaccines, except for Russian ones. In turn, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, co-chairman of the Opposition Platform - For Life party Vadim Rabinovich called the refusal of the authorities from the Russian drug Sputnik V "a planned destruction of the people".

“If we tell everyone that we don’t take the Russian vaccine, and they simply don’t give it to us in the West, then this is a planned operation to destroy the Ukrainian people,” the politician said.
