"British" strain of covid made its way to Russia

The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova told about this on the air of the TV channel "Russia 1". She clarified that 32 people infected with covid arrived in the Russian Federation. One of them was diagnosed with a new strain.

Moreover, the carrier of the "British" coronavirus returned to Russia in December last year. His illness was asymptomatic.

Popova indicated that the coronavirus variant does not cause a more severe course of the disease, but is, in all likelihood, more infectious. She once again emphasized that Russian vaccines also protect against the "British" strain, which is confirmed by the data of PCR systems.

Recall that a new variant of covid has already been identified in more than 40 countries.
