On the morning of January 11, the Armenian opposition blocked the road to Yerevan's Zvartnots airport, where Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was heading. In Moscow, he was scheduled to meet with the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev.
According to RIA Novosti, during the talks the parties intended to consider the details of the further settlement of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"Not far from the airport, a protest action was held by the opposition, who tried to prevent Pashinyan from passing", the statement said.
Thanks to the actions of the police, Pashinyan's motorcade was able to reach the airport. At the same time, one of the protesters was detained by the police.
The hostilities in Karabakh lasted from September 27 to November 10. The bloodshed was stopped thanks to the signing of an agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia with the mediation of Moscow. As a result of the agreements reached, the Kelbajar, Lachin and Aghdam regions of Karabakh came under Baku's control. And on the territory of the unrecognized NKR, Russian peacekeepers are stationed. The loss of control over part of the territory of Karabakh sparked a wave of protests in Armenia. Opposition representatives continue to protest and demand Pashinyan's resignation.
