A more severe second year of the pandemic could be due to the dynamics of the spread of COVID-19 and "some of the problems that we are seeing", - Ryan said.
According to a WHO representative, information received by the organization over the past two weeks shows that the incidence of covid has "peaked again".
Ryan pointed out that the “perfect storm” is happening in the Northern Hemisphere, especially in Europe and North America. The infection has started to spread faster due to frost, crowds and new strains that are circulating, Ryan said.
Earlier, we note, the WHO allowed the emergence of more and more new strains of covid. At the same time, the COVID-19 variant, called "British", has already been identified in fifty territories of different countries. There were also reports about a certain "Siberian" strain, which, however, is no more infectious and no more dangerous than the "classic" coronavirus and about the "mink" strain in Denmark.
The organization clarifies that since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 90 million inhabitants of the planet have already become ill with covid. About two million people became victims of the epidemic.
