Earlier it was planned to announce a pardon for the convicts during the past week, but due to events unfolding in Washington since January 6, when Trump supporters took to the rally, the announcement of Trump's verdict was postponed.
At the same time, the head of the White House does not plan to pardon himself, CNN reports.
Earlier, The New York Times wrote about the likelihood of such a development of events. The publication got to learn that Trump is discussing with his aides the possibility of a personal pardon while he is still in office. According to Trump, after he leaves the presidency, his opponents will persecute him. The newspaper called the possible pardon of himself then "an unprecedented use of the presidential power". In addition to his own pardon, Trump also discussed such an outcome for his daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner.
CNN experts do not believe that Trump will decide on his own pardon after the events in Washington and the subsequent impeachment procedure, but they remind that Trump's actions have been unpredictable lately.
