"Last night became the coldest since the beginning of this winter in Moscow", - stated in the meteorological office.
The previous maximum temperature in the city on the previous night was from Saturday to Sunday. Then minus 21.2 degrees was recorded.
The coldest day on January 18 in the history of the capital was the day in 1940 - then the temperature dropped to 41.1 degrees.
Forecasters expect that the coming night frosts will be at 23-26 degrees.
The depth of the snow cover doubled during the week after the snowfalls hit the capital. In different regions, it ranges from 40 to 45 cm. Since the beginning of January, 44 mm of precipitation have fallen in Moscow.
It's worth reminding that the day before, unfavorable weather conditions led to the detention of more than three dozen flights at the airports of the capital.
