The flight from Berlin to Sheremetyevo ended with the detention of Navalny in the "gray" zone

The world media, whose correspondents are accompanying Alexey Navalny, his wife Yulia and press secretary Kira Yarmysh, broadcast live that the politician sat on the 13th row of the plane, and the departure of the regular Pobeda flight was delayed for half an hour.

The flight ended with the detention of an opposition politician at the request of the FSIN (the FS for Punishment Execution).

The reason for the delay is not the person of Navalny, but some man who had to be removed from the flight for violent behavior.

Judging by the footage of the live broadcast, at least a third of the passengers on the flight are journalists from various media, including the world news agencies Reuters, AP, etc. Navalny did not make any statements when boarding the plane.

"I expect fine weather in Moscow -23 and a pleasant feeling that I have reached my hometown. I urge everyone to sit down and fasten their seat belts", - Navalny said.

Meanwhile, in Vnukovo, the authorities prepared for a meeting. All the people were taken out of the arrivals area at Vnukovo and an opaque screen was put up. Units of various law enforcement agencies and police wagons arrived at the airport in at least several hours. Eyewitnesses convey conflicting information. Some say that the police only let citizens with air tickets into the arrivals hall, while others, on the contrary, did not notice any special restrictions on their stay at the airport.

Oleg Navalny, as a Znak.com correspondent reports, said that he had taken special measures to get to Vnukovo - he bought a ticket to Ufa.

And many young people who come to Vnukovo claim that they have come to meet the "star" of House-2 tv-show ("Dom-2") and singer Olga Buzova. Nobody touches them.

While crowds of young people were driven to Vnukovo to "meet Buzova", the artist herself does not seem to know about such attention. She just arrived in St. Petersburg this morning on the "Sapsan" train and is now publishing on Instagram photos from a walk in the city center.

The official account of the capital's Vnukovo airport posted a tweet about the meeting of the arriving blogger Alexey Navalny. For some reason, his arrival was compared with the events of the Great Patriotic War of 1941, the radio station "Echo of Moscow" reports.

“We have adequately met the planes from Germany in 1941, and we will meet all planes in 2021. This year we will be 80 years old, and we have already seen and experienced a lot”, - says the Vnukovo Twitter account in response to a message from one of the social network users who wrote that he felt sorry for the specialist.

Later, the SMM specialist tried to explain himself, noting that “There is no analogy, interpretation and secret meanings. It's just that Vnukovo airport was opened on July 2, 1941, it just happened. The airport turns 80 this year. Over the years, we have witnessed many different events".

At about 6 pm it became known that Lyubov Sobol, a lawyer of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, Ruslan Shaveddinov, an employee of the Foundation, and an activist Konstantin Kotov, were detained in Vnukovo. They were in a cafe at the entrance to the terminal for domestic flights, a police officer approached them and detained them, the correspondent of "Dozhd" Vasily Polonsky reports.

Novaya Gazeta reports about the arrest of his correspondent Vlad Dokshin - his documents were taken away and taken to a paddy wagon.

As of 19.30, police detained 21 people at the airport, OVD-Info reported.

As expected, upon arrival in Moscow, Navalny is to be arrested by FSIN officers. However, no one knows for sure whether this forecast will come true.

Earlier, the Federal Penitentiary Service threatened to detain Navalny pending a court decision to replace the suspended sentence with a real one in the Yves Rocher case. The department put the opposition leader on the federal wanted list, since the probationary period in the Yves Rocher case expired on December 30, 2020.

At 19.50 it became known that the German Pobeda flight had been redirected to Sheremetyevo, RTVi reported. But this message has not received official confirmation.

Exactly at 20.00 in Vnukovo, information about the landing of a flight to Sheremetyevo at 20.48 appeared on the arrival board.

The well-known aviation expert Vadim Lukashevich noted that it is a matter of technology to reroute a plane to another Moscow airport, since all airports in the capital are a unified traffic control system.

At 20.12, the Pobeda plane landed at Sheremetyevo. According to the correspondents, the pilot told the passengers with laughter during the landing that the reason for the airport change was that another plane on the runway had a broken landing gear.

At 20.40 all the passengers of the plane, including Navalny, got on the airport bus.

At 20.58, at passport control, a police officer asked Navalny to "follow me". After three minutes of bickering, the oppositionist followed the policeman, leaving his companions and lawyer at passport control (they were not allowed with him). At the same time, they did not put a stamp in his passport indicating crossing the border of the Russian Federation.

The Federal Penitentiary Service in Moscow confirmed the detention of Alexey Navalny at the Sheremetyevo airport, transfers TASS. The department clarified that since December 29, Navalny has been on the wanted list "for multiple violations of the probationary period".

“The further measure of restraint for A. A. Navalny will be determined by the court. Until the court ruling, he will be in custody”, - the FSIN stressed.

Closer to 11 pm, Navalny's lawyer said that her client was still in the "gray" zone of the airport and was deprived of legal support.

The foreign ministers of the Baltic republics posted a joint statement in their accounts. They called the detention absolutely unacceptable and called on Europe to impose sanctions against Russia in the event that the politician is not at large. The head of the European Council also called for the release of the oppositionist, reports Echo of Moscow.

The press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, in a conversation with the Podyom newspaper, said that he was not aware of Navalny's detention. He didn’t follow what was happening because today is his last day of vacation.
