Rescuers managed to find the bodies of miners who died in a fire at the Yareganeft oil mine, which is part of LUKOIL-Komi. The tragedy happened in November last year.

After the bodies were raised to the surface, investigators examined them and ordered forensic examinations.

As a reminder, mine workers died on November 1, 2020. The fire broke out in one of the sloped blocks of oil mine No. 3 of Yaregneft. Of the 80 people who were in the mine that day, 80 were able to evacuate.

The portal progoroduhta.ru reports that 19-year-old Yevgeny Bislyuk and 33-year-old Alexander Vasyuchenko were killed.

Searches for the two remaining miners in the mine did not bring results for a long time. Then it was decided to flood the mine if the missing are recognized as dead. On November 3, the court issued a corresponding decision, and the miners' relatives agreed to declare them dead.

Lukoil-Komi previously stated that the cause of the fire could have been a short circuit in the starting device belonging to the contractor. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for violation of industrial safety at hazardous production facilities.
