This document, signed by members of the Board of the Union, headed by Nikita Mikhalkov, due to its illogicality, lack of reasons, facts, names, is abstract in nature and causes ironic reactions even among the most apolitical filmmakers.
World-renowned director Alexei Fedorchenko, who never announced his political position, did not participate in rallies, on his Facebook page called the signatories of the statement (57 board members, including Nikita Mikhalkov, Karen Shakhnazarov, Sergei Snezhkin, etc.) “funny and pathetic. " The well-known film critic Dmitry Savelyev in his commentary gave a definition to the members of the Board of the RF IC: "shameful wolves." Actress Julia Aug reacted emotionally to the statement on her Facebook page:
"Oh, gods, what a document of history".
What are these people afraid of? Where does this fear and servility come from?
"Some politicized members", according to the Filmmakers' Union, "pass off political manifestos as artistic conceptions, and substitute self-publicity for the absence of real professional activity". Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation Nikita Mikhalkov, by the way, made his last film in 2014 - "Sunstroke", but all these years he has been actively involved in the author's program "Besogon", which is difficult to suspect of multipolar opinions. In the last "Besogonah" Mikhalkov openly runs into globalists, international foundations, while appealing to democracy and freedom of speech.
Karen Shakhnazarov expresses his political position every week on the talk show "Evening with Vladimir Solovyov". Surely, not all 5 thousand members of the Union of Cinematographers agree with the judgments and calls of Karen Shakhnazarov and Nikita Mikhalkov, but at the same time they do not accuse them of “speculation” and “provocations”, as board members do with respect to “some politicized colleagues”:
“The Union of Cinematographers of Russia declares that in the traditions of our Union it is to preserve the community, the creative environment, the right to do our own thing and remain unconvinced, and not to allow speculation and provocations using the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation”.
By the way, there are a number of grammatical and stylistic errors in the Statement. Critics of this appeal on social networks also drew attention to this.
