This year, the largest film screening in the Scandinavian countries takes place in an unusual format, according to Reuters. The movies are played on a tiny island, and there will be only one person to watch it all week - a Swedish nurse and film addict Lisa Enroth, who achieved this in a dispute with 12,000 other applicants.
Hamneskar Island is located nine kilometers offshore on the west coast of Sweden. Everything that fits on this rocky piece of land, which can only be reached by boat or helicopter, is the famous Pater Noster lighthouse and the hotel named after him, converted from the lighthouse keeper's house.
A new reality prompted the organizers of the Gothenburg Film Festival to hold the event in an unusual format. The organizers decided not to postpone it, as, for example, happened with Cannes, which moved to the fall. All 60 films of the Gothenburg Festival will be shown, but only to one viewer.
The competition, which was attended by 12,000 people, was won by nurse Lisa Enroth. “I think I have spent more than one century at my work, listening, comforting and helping. It was as if all the energy had been siphoned out of me”, - said Enroth, - Now for a whole week with me will be only the wind and the sea. And the opportunity to become part of a completely different reality".
The organizers provided their guest with a comfortable bed, food and drinks. The only thing that is required of her is to keep a daily video diary, the first entries of which have already appeared on the festival website.
