The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Altai Territory has appointed a check on the death of the politician.
The body of Alexander Nazarchuk was found in his house in the village of Solnechny. A preliminary version was put forward that the cause of death could have been a gas leak, but the Sledkom (Investigative Committee) did not stop at it, reports Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
"It is too early to say what caused the death of Alexander Nazarchuk. Investigators working on the scene found no obvious evidence of gas poisoning. So the exact cause of death can only be established by a forensic medical examination", - said Yelena Konovalova, assistant to the head of the regional investigation department.
Alexander Nazarchuk has been a people's deputy of the RSFSR since 1990. In 1993 he became a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. He served as Minister of Agriculture and Food from 1994 to 1996.
