The department has already prepared the draft amendments to the law "On Communications", - said Deputy Minister Oleg Ivanov.
He clarified to RIA Novosti that this was done on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin to finalize the legislation to quickly search for the missing.
The deputy head of the department recalled that tens of thousands of people disappear in Russia every year. To find them, the resources of federal bodies and public organizations, as well as telecom operators are involved. The latter, Ivanov said, can provide service information of the means of communication, "including the coordinates of the devices of the missing", but now this information is classified.
"The coordinates of subscriber devices are a secret, the observance of which operators are required to ensure. Coordinates may not always be promptly transferred to the bodies that are engaged in operational-search activities. And sometimes the count goes to hours", - the official emphasized.
He also added that the amendments will not violate the law on personal data, since the coordinates of the location are not such.
The project was sent for consideration to the interested federal authorities. Then it will be presented for public comment.
We will remind, recently it became known that the majority of state mobile applications (88%), including "Moscow State Services" and "Active Citizen", transfer user data to third-party companies.
At the same time, in recent years, the country has regularly leaked personal data of citizens: if you wish, you can easily collect a dossier with confidential data on almost any person on the Internet, including information about cars, real estate, registration address, family members and even state of health. For example, in the midst of a pandemic in the Network flowed personal data of a plurality of Moscow residents recover from a coronavirus.
