Calculation without guile: authorities reduce pandemic mortality figures

Popular blogger Vladimir Stechkin drew attention to the crafty numbers of excess deaths in Russia last year, which were announced by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova: “According to preliminary data from Rosstat, death in the Russian Federation in 2020 increased by 17.9% compared to 2019. This is excess death, which includes death from covid..."

The author converted this data into a graph that shows the dynamics of mortality in 2019 and 2020 by month:

Obviously, the already abnormal death rate increased in December 2020, reaching 243 thousand, while in December 2019 there were 149 thousand, that is, an increase of 94 thousand people, and together from May 2020 to December, this figure is 339,640 people, which is 18.7%, but not 17.9%, as stated by Golikova.

But the notorious 17.9% is just the difference in mortality between 2020 and 2019 - between 1800.7 thousand deaths in 2019 and 2124.5 thousand in 2020. It is true here, too, that it was mentioned above, since 323.8 thousand people are 17.98%, or roughly 18%, but not 17.9%. Even in such trifles, the authorities are trying to hide the results of the destruction of medicine, which took place under the slogan of its "optimization", the blogger complains, and gives real figures for the annual death rate in Russia over the past 40 years:

Hence, it is clear that in the last 17 years it has been falling in comparison with the abnormal growth in the 1990s, and therefore it is more logical to calculate not from 2019, but taking into account the entire trend of recent years, when mortality has been decreasing. For example, over the past five years, if the pandemic had not happened, it would have amounted to 1,767.4 thousand. But if you subtract these numbers from the real 2,124.5 thousand, you get an excess mortality - 357.1 thousand people, or 20.2%.

This means that Golikova operates with the most advantageous figures for herself of all possible, in order to somehow embellish the catastrophic reality: the death of 342-357 thousand citizens of the country, which occurred precisely because of the pogrom perpetrated by Russian health care in recent years, which destroyed the entire medical infrastructure. So it could not bear the terrible loads that fell on it in a pandemic, which led to the super-death of Russians.
