Roskachestvo: producers of drinking water massively change labels

12 февраля 2021, 09:14
Drinking water producers started to change labels en masse. Now they indicate the real content of minerals and do not write information that can mislead the buyer.

This happened after checking Roskachestvo. In January, the organization found that 65 out of 206 drinking water samples tested did not meet standards. Some of them had the wrong trace element content on the labels. Other labels could mislead the buyer: an indication of naturalness, eco-characteristics, visualization of natural images. In world practice, this is called “legal falsification”.

Also, Roskachestvo specialists had comments on the category or group of drinking water, which is not produced according to GOST. Since if the water is manufactured according to the manufacturer's specifications, then it is not divided into categories - in this case, its indication can be a simple marketing ploy.

After checking, the brands “Pearl of Baikal”, “Kalinov Rodnichok”, “Kristalnaya”, “Semerik”, “Stelmas” and Fleur Alpine removed the indication of the category or group from the labels, since this water was not produced according to GOST.

Trademarks Assol, Vista, Dew Drop, Kristalnaya, Luchezarnaya, Malakhovskaya, Semerik, Sineborie, Stelmas, Fleur Alpine and Monte Deaqua have corrected the information on the label on the content microelements.

But the water manufacturer Nestle Pure Life, although it took into account the comments and presented a layout of the new label, the specialists of Roskachestvo did not notice the changes.

It's worth reminding that from January 1, 2022, all packaged water will have to be released only in accordance with the EAEU TR 044/2017 standards, according to which the absence of the word “natural” or water treatment methods would be a violation.
