The new version of the federal law "On technical inspection of vehicles and on amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation" introduced requirements, in particular, concerning the braking system, steering, external lighting devices, tires, wheels, glass, engine and its systems, reports TASS.
If the vehicle has leaked brake fluid, the inspection will not be considered passed. The same applies to significant cracks in the windshield on the driver's side, defects in seat belts, the inability to turn the steering wheel smoothly when turning.
It's worth reminding that from March 1 in Russia the rules for vehicle inspection will change. From this date, the diagnostic cards of those vehicles that have not actually passed the inspection procedure will be canceled.
Also, from March, the requirements for photographs of a car during technical inspection will be tightened. This innovation was proposed by the Ministry of Transport. Initially, it was assumed that all cars that will undergo technical inspection after March 1, 2021 must receive documents with marks of the GLONASS system, and the place of maintenance must be determined "with an error of no more than 15 meters along the coordinate axes". Making these adjustments, the government believed that such a measure would exclude the possibility of undergoing the tech inspectio (MOT) “in absentia”, without delivering the car to an authorized organization. But it turned out that due to the dense building and distortion of the satellite signal, many operators cannot comply with the requirement for a fifteen-meter error in the coordinates of the images.
