The journalist Pavel Pryanikov reports in his blog about scientific work devoted to the quality of the domestic nomenclature. Thus, scientists from the Department of Political Science and Ethnopolitics of the South Russian Institute of Management, a branch of the RANEPA, conducted and published a study in which they found out that the main attitudes of the nomenclature are predatory, two-thirds of it see the West as a reference point, and consider their position unshakable.
The survey was conducted in 3 Russian regions, the number of experts is more than 100, among them state and municipal employees and representatives of the regional administrative and political elite prevail.
Here are the conclusions the scientists draw:
- The main answers to the question "Value attitudes and motives underlying the power-political and administrative activities of the modern ruling elite of Russia": to have access to the country's wealth - 45.7%, enrichment - 40% ("the desire to serve the Fatherland" - only 5 , 7%).
- The main answers to the question “The degree of influence of foreign organizations on the formation of modernization installations of the modern Russian elite”: average - 34.3%, high - 31.3%. In other words, 2/3 of the respondents are convinced of the pro-Western value attitudes of the modern Russian elite.
- The main answers to the question "What is the likelihood of qualitative cardinal transformations in the system of Russian power in the coming years": changes are possible and their probability is high - 5.7%, changes are inevitable - 2.9%. Those. less than a tenth of the nomenklatura believe that their position can be shaken by something (including a change of power as a result of protests or elections).
The authors of the study summarize: "Predator complex" as a characteristic of the dominant group is evident. Judging by the opinions of experts (and these are mainly representatives of sub-elite groups who know their bosses not by words, but by deeds), these are not democratic elites, not statists and not patriots".
