Pandemic
Aeroflot has cut salaries for all its pilots and flight attendants, explaining this by reducing the number of flights during the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The general director of the airline Mikhail Poluboyarinov told about this in an interview with RBC. According to him, the employees of the airline reacted with understanding to the situation. At the same time, the head of the company expects that the air transportation market in Russia will recover to pre-crisis levels in a year - in 2022, and international transportation - in 2023-2024.

Pilots at other Russian airlines also faced similar wage cuts. So, "Pobeda", for example, in August last year sent a third of its pilots on unpaid leave until the end of the year. They cannot leave the company, since they are bound by a five-year contract. In case of dismissal, they will have to return the 1.5 million rubles spent on their training. At the same time, the pilots themselves note that the load on those who remained to fly has greatly increased.
