Surgut and Tyumen were called more comfortable in comparison with Moscow and St. Petersburg

At the same time, there are only two million-plus cities in the top five, the researchers note. Another city with a population of over a million people - Ufa, closes the top ten most comfortable cities for living, writes RBC with the reference to the results of the study.

When compiling the rating, the researchers paid attention to the quality of the urban environment in the largest cities of Russia, as well as to the affordability of buying housing in them in relation to the salaries received there. So, according to the cost of housing, only 27 cities out of a hundred were recognized as comfortable for living. Surgut, Murmansk and Tyumen were recognized as the most affordable in terms of cost of living in relation to the average salary. The worst is the situation in Armavir, Sevastopol and Ussuriysk. These cities scored only 20 points out of 50 possible when assessing the affordability of housing in them.

From the point of view of the quality of the environment , Krasnodar, Tyumen and Samara were recognized as the most comfortable , which scored over 38 points. But the most inconvenient city was Chita, which scored only 26 points.

It is noteworthy that a year earlier Kaluga closed the top five. Now in its place is Moscow, the improvement of the standard of living in which in a year has raised this city from 52nd to fifth place.
