Security officials in Bashkiria detained the current Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the region Boris Belyaev as part of the investigation of a corruption criminal case initiated against the head of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic Ramzil Kucharbayev.

As reported by RIA Novosti, citing a law enforcement source, the case concerns the abuse of authority in the construction of treatment facilities.

"Belyaev was detained for 48 hours under article 91 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation as part of the investigation of a criminal case against the Minister of Construction of Bashkortostan Ramzil Kucharbayev", - the news agency notes.

According to the investigation, in 2017, the Minister of Construction and Architecture of Bashkiria, Kucharbayev, working as head of the capital construction department, signed an act on the acceptance of new treatment facilities in Kumertau. However, the facility accepted by him was actually not completed: commissioning work was not carried out, the facilities were not ready for operation and provision of services.

The 95 million rubles allocated under the state contract were transferred to the contractor, but the city did not receive the necessary treatment facilities.

When it became known about the machinations with the acceptance of the structures, a case was opened against Kucharbayev under a “corruption” article on abuse of power. As part of the investigation of this case, the investigation filed a motion for the arrest of the official, and the Supreme Court satisfied this demand. Kucharbayev is now awaiting trial under house arrest.
