Journalist Vladimir Pozner previously spoke negatively about Orthodoxy again. He described it as the worst offshoot of Christianity.

Russian Knyaz Vladimir (also mentioned as the Prince Vladimir - editor's note) made a mistake in his choice, because the standard of living in Catholic and Protestant countries is currently better and richer than in Orthodox, Pozner shared his point of view.

In turn, theologian, missionary Andrey Kurayev commented on the statement of the journalist. In his opinion, "Posner is really a loser in his own field". The journalist has repeatedly spoken out on this topic, but did not notice that according to the criteria that he considers the most important, Prince Vladimir did the right thing, Kurayev noted.

Thus, in the 10th century, Western Europe was a cultural province of Byzantium. In terms of cultural, scientific, theological aspects, the Western world of that period can be considered a barbaric world, the theologian explained.

As Infox writes, he also noted that in the 10th century Christianity had not yet been divided into Orthodox and Catholic branches. There was a single church, faith and religious space.

“It turns out that Prince Vladimir, as it were, entered the EU of that period, he chose to join the most advanced, cultural, wealthy club, Kurayev said. In addition, he became related with the emperor, asking for the wife of the princess Anna. In other words, he made the most competent choice, Kurayev believes. “If Posner had lived in the 10th century, he would have agreed with him”, - theologian.
