In Dagestan, judo competitions ended in mass brawl

In the Sports Palace of Kaspiysk (Dagestan) during the championship of the North Caucasus Federal District in judo among juniors, a mass brawl took place, in which not only spectators, but also athletes took part. After the incident, the competition was canceled.

According to RIA Novosti, initially there was a verbal conflict between Ossetian and Dagestani fans. But later a fight began, to which the athletes eventually joined. In total, several dozens of people took part in it.

On the fact of the incident, the disciplinary commission of the Dagestan Judo Federation organized an inspection. It is noted that the athletes who took part in the mass brawl will be disqualified.

At the same time, the Russian Judo Federation is also conducting an audit. “In the near future, a disciplinary commission will be held, where the incident will be considered. All those guilty will be punished without fail”, - TASS quoted the words of the organization’s press attaché Maria Tikhonravova.

The Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of Dagestan also plans to figure out what happened. According to RIA Dagestan, no one was hurt during the fight. The instigators were taken to the police station.
