The Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Alexander Osipov, during an experiment at a meeting of the operational headquarters for vaccination, could not sign up for a vaccination against coronavirus infection by calling the hot line of the Ministry of Health.

Simultaneously with the governor, the vice-premier of the regional government Andrei Gurulev also suffered a fiasco when registering for the vaccination, reports the Chita.ru portal.

“The operator of the 112 hotline offered Osipov to sign up for a waiting list, and said that he would be called back from the nearest clinic when the opportunity to deliver the vaccine appeared”, - RBC reports.

Despite the insistent demands of the head of the region to indicate the approximate date of vaccination, the call-center operator could not indicate the waiting period, explaining: "as soon as your turn comes, you will be invited".

After the deputy prime minister of the regional government Andrey Gurulev, following the governor, made a similar attempt to get an appointment, he was not given a date either, explaining that the resumption of the vaccination campaign in the region is expected in mid-March.

From this, the governor concluded that now it is impossible to make an appointment and get vaccinated in the region, since there is no vaccine supply plan for March.

“Report to Trutnev, Golikova, Mishustin, who is responsible for this? If an assignment is to be fulfilled, there must be some kind of assurance for the fulfillment of this assignment”, - Osipov was indignant.

Earlier it was reported that mass vaccination of the population in Russia began on January 18. Despite the fact that Russia was the first to register the coronavirus vaccine and is sending it out in large quantities around the world, the rate of vaccination in the country itself is disastrously low. While Israel has already vaccinated 70% of the population, Russia is not even among the thirty countries with the most effective rates of vaccination against COVID-19. At the same time, the indicators of "excess mortality" in the country in 2020 from causes allegedly not related to the coronavirus set record values.
