Serious passions are boiling again in Foros on the southern coast of Crimea. There, for the sake of building a children's camp (city residents strongly doubt that it will be limited to a camp), Foros Park, founded in 1834, is being destroyed. Plants from all over the world were specially brought into it, including coniferous species for the treatment of pulmonary diseases. Popular blogger Alexander Gorny addresses the head of the region Sergey Aksenov:
“For the first time I regretted that Crimea had returned home to Russia. It cannot belong to anyone, except for those people who live here and they are against the destruction of the Crimean nature and the plundering of what has been created for decades and centuries.
If the people take the destruction of Meganome and Foros Park, then they will destroy everything else.
7th anniversary of the Crimean spring under the motto - "Stop destroying Crimea!"
Foros Park, Meganom and Kapsel Bay, hundreds of other places and sold-out Crimea for a penny. This is a shame and a pain for the 7th anniversary. Enough! Bandits and crooks to account!
There is simply no longer any moral strength to see this chaos of the mainland barbarians and heroes of the Crimean spring.
Sergey Valerievich who are you with? With crooks, bandits and hucksters, or with the Crimea and those who live here and love this beautiful place?"

Even the state agency RIA Novosti. Crimea questioned the legality of this construction:
“Construction work in the Foros Park could have begun, since the Crimean regional legislation on specially protected natural areas does not actually protect some categories of regional PAs. The Crimean lawyer Kirill Medvedev stated this on the air of the Sputnik v Krym radio.
According to the specialist, Foros Park belongs to the category of so-called parks-monuments of landscape gardening art. This category is established and regulated only by regional legislation, since such a category is not spelled out in federal law No. 33 on protected areas.
The problem is that there are categories of protected areas that are listed in the federal law, and there are regional categories that (introduced - ed.) Regional authorities and the legal regime for which does not provide an understanding of what is possible and what is not. And a loophole is used when this regime is manipulated: no prohibitions or restrictions are imposed on the use of these land plots, "the lawyer explained.
Crimean activist Sergey Dubovik visited Foros to see what is really going on there:
“Not in a fairy tale, not to describe it with a pen.
We arrived in Foros at the preliminary invitation of local residents and, frankly, were a little aware of the situation, which greatly alarmed the Foros people.
Gorgeous place, gentlemen, I'll tell you a secret.
But they build it up in a barbaric way, of course.
We understand that construction is a hard-hitting business, but you can't demolish trees so godlessly!
A hefty pit was dug right next to the Kuznetsov spring ... for the construction of a reservoir for drinking water.
So why destroy the spring?
So they would drink from the spring.
During 4 hours of walking in the park, we saw a lot and were very tired of these negative emotions.
It was a strange feeling when you like everything around, but these construction sites, cars, people with heavy tools and the merciless sawing of branches and trees.
And joy and emotional experiences at the same time.
Scary. It's scary that this happens these days.
But most of all residents are worried about free access to the sea.
1.5 km of the foreshore may be behind the fence, which is being rapidly installed in the park.
And people are not fools and understand that if it is a children's camp, then it must be fenced and then people will not see either the park or the sea!
We appeal to the Head of the Republic and ask him to influence what is happening with his strong-willed decision and to intercede for the residents of Foros and their gorgeous Foros Park..."

Journalist Yekaterina Yaltinskaya reported in her publication that Aksenov called what was happening in Foros "legal":
“Today Aksyonov came to Foros to meet people. Frankly, there was very little, but the hope that he would nevertheless act humanly: he would stop illegal construction and save the park. But, as we know, the hopes of young men are nourished. Aksyonov called all construction legal, period. There will be a camp on the territory of the protected area, period. There will be an eight-story building in the park, period. And in general, whatever the investor wants here will be. In general, this is not all yours, but the investor's.
But you can go to the park, rejoice! Maybe even a fence around the camp and other things will not be made with a fidget, but some simpler one. But this still needs to be discussed, of course. And what about people? I'm still surprised, but there were those who betrayed the park for promises to make playgrounds (as you understand, without building the park, playgrounds are not allowed for children in the village), to repair the retaining wall, reconstruct the embankment (but here you still need to count and discuss, of course) , and also make a club.
Joyful Papuans put on beads and went to dream of new playgrounds. Of course, I will feel sorry for them when, in a few months, a barn castle in the park is hung in front of them, and they will only see that embankment through binoculars, but not too bad. But most of the honest, smart, courageous people who have fought for the park in recent weeks are terrified, many have not even been to this meeting today, where everything was decided for them. That no one hears them at all is now quite obvious. Of course, we will continue to fight for the park.
But not only for Forossky, but also for all the other parks of the southern coast of Crimea. After all, this precedent in Foros is the beginning of the systematic destruction of the entire park area of Big Yalta. Friends, they sell our Motherland with lock, stock and barrel and together with us. So that you don't have any illusions. But we will strive for the officials of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan to answer according to the law for what they have done.
What are we going to do next? A huge number of ideas. I can tell you what we will definitely not do: give up..."
According to media reports, the Kremlin is already interested in this collision:
“No, to be honest, I have not seen such an address, have not heard about him, and this is the first time I hear from you. I do not know that this topic was reported to the president, but, of course, it is very important, we will pay attention to this, we will ask questions of the leadership of Crimea”, - said Putin's press secretary Peskov.
Earlier, the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from Crimea, Natalya Poklonskaya, announced that, upon construction in Foros Park, deputy inquiries would be sent to the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia and Rosprirodnadzor.
