The head coach of the Russian national football team Stanislav Cherchesov told reporters how the coronavirus pandemic announced a year ago affected the work in the national team.

On the eve of the official anniversary of the coronavirus pandemic, announced by WHO on March 11, 2020, Stanislav Cherchesov shared his observations with reporters about how the epidemic changed the lives of Russians in general and Russian athletes in particular.

“The pandemic has deprived, first of all, of mobility and live communication. As for the format of work, in the national team, unlike in the club, it presupposes a distance character, so we are used to it”, - he said.

Answering the question about when a normal life will begin, the coach noted that, in principle, “we lead a normal life now, there are simply certain limitations”.

“By the way, in Russia we began to live more freely earlier than in other countries. I communicate with many friends and colleagues, who confirm that everything is much tougher with them”, - TASS quoted Cherchesov's words.

Stanislav Cherchesov, who headed the Russian national team in August 2016, admitted that the pandemic made him "rethink some things" and spend more time with family and friends.

Earlier it was reported that this year Cherchesov was vaccinated against coronavirus at the Center for Sports Medicine of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia with the domestic vaccine "Sputnik V".
