As reported in the regional prosecutor's office, the employees of the Municipal Autonomous Institution "Nutrition Center" carried out their duties in an inappropriate manner and did not take timely measures to suppress the provision of services that did not meet the requirements of sanitary legislation. As a result of this, there was a massive illness of yersiniosis infection among children who ate in school canteens in the Oktyabrsky and Sovetsky districts.
The case was initiated after the prosecutor's check was carried out.
Note that this case is already the third on the fact of mass poisoning of schoolchildren.
It's worth reminding that in early March it became known that hundreds of schoolchildren fell ill with yersiniosis infection. Moreover, school directors concealed information about the incident and did not report the poisoning to the city administration and the regional education ministry. First Deputy Minister of Education Dmitry Glushko called this behavior of the leadership of educational institutions "a crime against children".
By the way, violations at the vegetable supplier were indeed revealed even before the poisoning of Krasnoyarsk schoolchildren, which occurred in February. During an unscheduled inspection in December-January, Rospotrebnadzor discovered violations of sanitary standards at a company supplying products for salads.
The police and the Investigative Committee opened criminal cases on violation of sanitary standards and the provision of services that do not meet the requirements of the safety of life and health of consumers. Under this article, the violator faces a fine of up to 700 thousand rubles or up to two years in prison.
Currently, the activities of the supplier and producer of vegetables are temporarily suspended. The head of Krasnoyarsk said that upon the incident, he fired the deputy head of the city's main education department and the head of the municipal "Nutrition Center".
