Today, March 16, in the central building of the State Museum of the History of Russian Literature named after V.I. Dahl on Zubovsky Boulevard, a new museum department opens - the Museum of the History of Literature of the XX century, which will display unique museum relics related to the life and work of Russian writers of different aesthetic trends and destinies. Among them are Andrey Platonov, Mikhail Bulgakov, Alexander Vertinsky and Marina Tsvetaeva.
The first exposition of the Museum was "Mandelstam Street: Osip and Nadezhda", it was developed jointly with the Mandelstam Center of the Higher School of Economics and serves as an example of understanding and reconstructing the history of 20th century literature as unfinished, unlived until the end of the past. The exposition consists of three parts: the room of Osip Emilievich, the room of Nadezhda Yakovlevna and the corridor leading to them, decorated with posters and posters of the 1900-1930s.
Due to the well-known tragic events, a very small number of memorial items and materials of the great Russian poet have survived, but this exhibition presents authentic items from the collections of the State Museum of the History of Russian Literature named after V.I. Dahl, the Mandelstam Society and private collections, supplemented by multimedia projects. For example, specially restored 11 archival audio recordings of Mandelstam's voice, some of which will be made public for the first time.
