Scientists: the risk of re-infection with covid is higher for the older people

People of the age of 65 years and older are more at risk of the reinfection with COVID-19 than others, Danish scientists said.

The research results are published in the journal Lancet. According to the findings of scientists, the level of protection against re-infection in those who have already had covid is 80.5%, but in patients over 65 years old, it drops to 47.1%. This once again confirms that the elderly are at the main risk group for coronavirus.

Note that in Moscow, about two-thirds of the severe forms of coronavirus fell on elderly citizens.

By the way, in early March, scientists from France, Switzerland and Canada identified a link between physical exercise, which is done at least once a week, and a decrease in the risk of hospitalization with coronavirus infection.
